BLOUNT GOP
REORGANIZATION
Every odd numbered year, the Blount County GOP undergoes a reorganization of its Party leadership. The purpose of this reorganization is to allow those who have been actively engaged in the Republican Party to meet and elect new leadership.
Blount County is organized through a Precinct Leadership Model. Under this organizational structure, eligible Republicans will first meet with others from their same voting Precinct to elect a Precinct Chair, a Precinct Vice-Chair, and delegates to a County Convention. Eligibility to participate in this process requires a voter to reside in and be registered to vote in their Precinct, have voted in three (3) of the last four (4) statewide Republican primaries, and have been actively involved in the Republican Party since the last reorganization. A valid governmental issued photo I.D. is required to vote.
Precinct Conventions will be held in the first two weeks of April at the Blount County Public Library. Please see below for the room, date, and time of all the Precinct Conventions.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, room sizes are limited. Therefore, so that we can have social distancing and comply with meeting size restrictions, we are asking anyone who thinks they are eligible and plans to participate in their Precinct Convention to fill out the form below to pre-register. This will allow our Contest & Credentials Committee to speed up the registration process and make sure that we have room for everyone eligible to participate (if more people than anticipated appear we could exceed room number restrictions and be forced to reschedule to a later date at a larger venue).
